L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Mask- (Blue Anti Blemish Mask) Review

Do you feel your skin is getting dull, tired and lifeless? Needless to say, our skin gets more vulnerable in summers but we cannot put the entire blame on summers and heat only. It can be due to fault in our skincare routine. If you really want to look perfect and flawless; cleanse, scrub and tone your skin at least once in a week. But if you are someone who is always busy and cannot take that much time out of your busy routine- you should definitely get your hands on a good mask that can give maximum benefits to your skin in less time.

Let me share my mask story with you and how was my experience with one of the most hyped masks of 2018 i.e. L’Oréal Pure Clay Mask. I was looking for a skincare product that helps in shrinking pores and is less drying. One day while roaming around in Imtiaz’s skincare section I stopped by at L’Oréal Paris stall. I came across this Blue L’Oréal Paris pure clay mask, which has these claims on its packaging; ‘Clears Blackheads, Shrinks Pores’. I had heard good things about it and yes the cherry on the top there was a sale going on L’Oréal Paris products so without any further ado I instantly made my mind to give it shot.

The Claims

This blue Pure Clay Mask by L’Oréal Paris is marketed as an anti-blemish mask. The mask claims to clear blackheads and shrink pores without drying your skin out. It does not claim to reduce blackheads and pores instantly after first use. However, constant use guarantees the desired results. As stated on the packaging; you will feel your skin neat, perfectly clean and less oily just after the first use. Use for 1 week and pores will be less visible and decongested. Finally, use after use, your blackheads will be less visible as well as you will feel that your skin texture has been visibly transformed.

First Impression

As the packaging says I applied a thin layer of this mask. It is easy to apply as it glides smoothly and evenly on your skin without leaving any patches. As per the instructions you need leave it on for just 5-10 minutes and it literally takes barely 5-10 minutes to get completely dry. I left in on for 15 minutes because yes I need this much minutes to be completely satisfied that the mask has worked. For rinsing, I splashed luke warm water on my face and massaged gently until it came off completely.

As you all must know, facial masks tend to make our face dry right after we take them off. I noticed that this mask is different from others in this regard. The brand claims it has non-drying texture and to some extent, they are true to their claim. You won’t feel your skin flaky and white due to dryness after rinsing it off.

To be honest, it did not cast magic on my pores right after the first wash, but I noticed that the appearance of pores was a little minimized and better than before. My skin got squeaky clean and supple, I moisturized my face with Physiogel after 15 minutes of washing this mask off and trust me I felt as if I have just got a complete facial done on my face.

If I need to head to a party at night and I have no time left on hand I would definitely go for this mask. It made my skin even and fresh and left a smooth canvas for the makeup application.

I am loving the packaging of L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay mask, simply loving. Although it’s a heavy glass jar and not travel-friendly at all. Still, I am liking the luxurious feel of this jar. The green color of the box and cap is aesthetically pleasing. Anyone who loves to hoard on luxurious beauty products would love to get their hands on it. It also has an extra protective lid inside.

L’Oréal Pure Clay Mask Packaging

One more thing I like about the packaging is the detailed description of the ingredients, benefits and product explanation mentioned on the outer box. Most of the brands nowadays skip on this feature and I personally get frustrated when I don’t get to know what the product is about and what ingredients does it have. So this aspect is definitely worth-praising.

I must say that pure Clay Mask by L’Oréal Paris is a true blend of exotic ingredients. The ingredients were the main attraction that made me make a buying decision for this mask. It has Kaolin which is a highly effective pure clay concentrated in silicates and is known to suck up the dirt, sebum, and impurities from the skin. It has Montmorillonite– a pure clay rich in minerals which is recognized for its efficacy on imperfections. It has Ghassoul- pure clay highly concentrated in oligo-elements which helps in improving skin complexion. It also has marine algae extract which is known for its anti-blemish properties.

Texture and Fragrance

The texture is smooth and creamy, as I mentioned above it glides evenly on the skin. If you are not a fan of heavily scented skincare products this might be annoying for you. It’s typical shaving products kinda smell, but I personally like it.

L’Oréal Pure Clay Mask Texture

The L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Mask is a bit on the pricier side but I bought it on sale from Imtiaz and it cost me Rs.990 only.

The only aspect I am not a fan of is the quantity of this product. Considering the price of the mask the quantity is 50ml which in my opinion is quite less and it claims to provide only 10 applications.

Should You Buy It?

If you ask me to give you 5 quick reasons to buy this product, they would be:

  1. Exotic ingredients
  2. Quick results
  3. Accessibility
  4. Trusted Brand
  5. Tested under dermatological control

Ending Notes

In a nutshell, if you have been looking for a mask that minimizes the appearance of pores, blackheads and makes your skin soft, supple and clear instantly- you should definitely get your hands on it. The mask has legit exotic ingredients with no paraben and is easily available at the nearest drugstore. At the same time, keep in mind that the packaging is not travel-friendly, quantity is less and scent is a bit strong.
